The Boots & Arrow Story
Boots & Arrow started with an idea, and a rescue dog
Boots & Arrow was born out of a deep love for design and a passion for rescue animals. After 17-plus years in the design industry and just as much time rescuing dogs, I wanted to find a way to combine my love for design, social good and animals into one project. Boots & Arrow also serves as an extension of our agency, DesignGood Studio and its online community, DesignGood, and combines everything that is dear to my heart like creativity and social entrepreneurship. The creation of Boots & Arrow was the coming together of many things that felt right.
When I adopted Arrow, a dog from a local rescue organization, she gave me the idea for what would become a line of one-of-a-kind handmade leather goods that helps abused animals. Arrow had a rough start – she was severely injured, had a disfigured face and required a good deal of reconstructive surgery. I gave Arrow a home, and she gave me so much more.
Being a native Texan and having spent time traveling the world I realized that the cowboy boot was recognized, loved and appreciated everywhere. The ornate patterns, detail and the care with which cowboy boots are made have always been a point of inspiration for me. Overall, the boots turned out to be the missing element that brought the collection to life.
At its core, Boots & Arrow is a line of high quality leather accessories for the socially conscious design lover. We hand make our dog collars, wallets, money clips and clutches in Austin, Texas, using the leather of reclaimed cowboy boots. That means that no two pieces are ever alike.
When you purchase a Boots & Arrow piece, you’ll join a community of like-minded design lovers who want their accessories to look as good as the story behind them. Each and every piece is made from upcycled cowboy boot leather and hand finished. With Boots & Arrow, you know that you’re supporting local industry and traditional production methods, and getting a really uniquely designed piece with one heck of a history.
